We partnered up with @3sonsbrewingco and swung for the fences with in crafting this 11% Mexican Style Chocolate Pot De Crème Stout! This is quite possibly the pastriest pastry stout we’ve brewed… and maybe in the entire universe? We grabbed everything in the baking corner of the pantry to brew this beauty; macadamia nuts, cocoa nibs, cinnamon sticks, vanilla beans, sea salt, brownie batter, milk sugar and brown sugar (phew!). Extremely rich, thick, decadent… this is not for the faint of heart!

Appearance: Very dark brown, forlorn-looking body. Effectively flat pour as any appreciable head formation fizzled away instantaneously.

Smell: Chiefly chocolaty scent, it's got that unctous, oozing fudgy, brownie batter quality. Slight cinnamon, nuttiness detected. Particularly sweet-smelling in nature with some noted booziness.

Taste: Rather sweet, fairly chocolaty and given the viscosity of the body it still maintains a vibe of straight-up batter. Incorporated spice. Potent alcohol presence leaking out from amidst the sweetness within. Some subtle perceived nuttiness, initially, though a bit moreso as it warms a bit. Heated, sugary finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Light, low carbonation.

Overall: So this is beer these days.

my first time trying this, on tap, served cold, dark but not totally black, thick but not overly so, thin head that dissipated quickly, strong chocolate note on the nose, mix of flavors on the pallet, dark chocolate, bit of cream, touch of some type of mint, very tasty, worth a try for sure

12oz can from Tavour. Black, flat pour. Savory chocolate aroma, sweet, cinnamon. Cinnamon amps up the taste, adding a nice kick. Dark chocolate, brownies, vanilla. ABV well hidden.

Pours dark black with a modest head with little carbonation. Aroma is dark chocolate, cinnamon, some hint of vanilla and fudge. Taste is deeply dark chocolate with hazelnut, cinnamon and that chewy fudge flavor hitting all at once. As it warms, the hazelnut becomes more pronounced. The ABV is not hidden at all; it is up front and dares you to drink it. A thick, no holds barred, take no prisoners brew.

The Pot De Crème has a dark, impenetrable body, but a very short head that disappears quickly with no lacing.

The aroma is chocolate, sure, but also nutty, vanilla, and caramel. More chocolate nougat than Nestles.

The taste has alcohol warmth leading a relatively complex interaction of cocoa, vanilla, and spices. The alcohol warmth stays throughout eventually warming the back of my throat. This is a big beer that keeps reminding me that it is a big beer. Mildly bitter in the middle, with a relatively sweet finish, but (despite the name) not sweet as in a dessert beer, but more sweet like bittersweet chocolate.

The body is substantial, but not viscous.

Overall, an excellent adjunk Imperial Stout. All of the flavoring additives are handled deftly, allowing none to get out-of-control dominant; they combine and interweave nicely into the overall flavor. Strong alcohol flavor and warmth throughout.

Aroma is a complex mix of nuts and Snickers. The flavor is chocolate, dark fruit, dark malts, nuts/Snickers and a big acidic/slightly spicy/mildly sweet finish.
