12oz can poured into a tulip
A- pours black in color with a one-finger creamy khaki head that reduces to a ring
S- initial aroma smells just like a glazed chocolate doughnut, with undertones of coffee, powdered sugar and fresh pastries
T- very sweet up front with sugary notes of caramel and coffee, followed by chocolate, heavy cream and a hint of vanilla. More sweetness on the finish, with notes of chocolate, milk sugars and caramel on the linger
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a creamy, almost chewy finish
O- nice chocolate and vanilla cream notes throughout, but gets a bit cloying after a few ounces

There's no way you could ever justify having a beer for breakfast, but doughnuts are a different story. And if that story includes a doughnut dipped in beer, then there are exceptions to be made.
Untitiled Art's Doughnut Pastry Stout gets going with a very dark but not quite black pour. As its lightly frothy, slight tan foam skirts the surface, the aromas start the engulf the senses with sweet and savory, fresh baked pastries equipped with a buttery, sugary and coffee accented scent. Sweet on the tongue, the first impressions of caramel, toffee, honey and powdered sugar give the pastry stout a very sweet upstart.
And the sweetness continues to batter away at the tastebuds as the ale washes the middle palate in decadent malt sugars and impressions of sweet cream, powdered sugar, chocolate, toffee, cola and butterscotch. French vanilla and wafer sweetness add a crusty, toasty edge that bridges into a sweet coffee and chocolate, mocha-like character. Continued sweetness invites a slightly bitter late taste that plays out like aspartame.
Full bodied, lush and savory, the bigness of the beer and its dedication to the sweet breakfast pastry celebrates a high level of artistry but its cloying mouthfeel makes it hard to digest even a few modest ounces. The beer finishes sweet and with a long sugary after palate that far outlives any balance.

Pours black the only light I see is the brown hues in the stem of the goblet. Nice thick tan head falls of so slow good sheet lace.
Aroma is very sweet chocolate covered doughnut with a caramel glaze underneath , light hints of vanilla lactose under the chocolate glaze sweetness. Smells cloying hopefully not though.
Taste is wow sweetness sugary glaze over top of everything, even out powers the chocolate. Not much roasted notes this thing may be as sweet as a chocolate glazed doughnut minus the good chocolate flavor. On the plus its almost doughnut like maybe even sweeter on the negative not as tasty as a doughnut could use more chocolate. This beer is defiantly a sipper pushing cloying about as far as you can go and stay drinkable. Usually a fan of Untitled Art but don't see me having this one again.
Mouthfeel big medium smooth and mellow carbonation.
Overall a bit too sweet for me, might be interesting to cut it with a Bigfoot and see what happens might do that when I get half of it down. Again not bad guess it lives up to the advertising just to sweet for my tastes.

Brew: Untitled Art – Doughnut Pastry Stout
Intro: 12 oz. had on tap poured into a tulip glass. Shared with a friend.
Appearance: Pitch black, Moderate head maybe .1 inch. Minimal lacing as I drank
Smell: Chocolate, vanilla, toffee, caramel. A very pleasent nose
Taste: Follows the smell. A little surprise it tasted so nice. Was very enjoyable.
Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation.
Drink: Easy enough drinker. Very enjoyable, sweet but not over the top.
Conclusion: As I mentioned, very enjoyable brew. Would not hesitate a repeat and seeking out a multipack just to have some on hand.

Poured into a tulip a pretty nice dark brown color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger tan head, which also leaves some minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with a very nice touch of chocolate/toffee, vanilla, licorice. The taste is very nice, malty, hoppy, with a very nice touch of chocolate/toffee, vanilla, licorice, with a pretty nice sweetness. Medium Body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a slight dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty beer. Very drinkable. Glad to see it around here.

Pours a deep caramel black with a fluffy, doughy head. Aroma is deeply complex, with vanilla, cinnamon, caramel and cotton candy type profiles. Taste is dense caramel, dark chocolate and vanilla flavors. All are well balanced and clean. A beer equivalent of doughnuts and wonderful to boot.
