Tastes like cloying powdered chocolate milk sugar. Too many flavors that don’t really go together. It tastes ok but overall a failed experiment.

Pours dark brown, nearly black, with a thin layer of head. Aroma is sweet, coffee, milk sugar, caramel and brown sugar. Taste follows, though with a burnt character. The brew is a bit unbalanced, too sweet and little to no ABV or malt character for my palate. The brew is lighter bodied than expected, with a tiny bit of chocolate at the end.

It's pretty clear that brewers can overpower the palate with pastry additions to stout in efforts to capture true dessert character. But can they capture finesse, lightness and subtlety without giving up power? Untitled Art brewers give this a hand with their tiramisu inspired Imperial Stout.

Very dark brown and capping off with a light tarnish meringue, their Tiramisu Stout starts down that path with a nose that's chocked full of chocolate, coffee and vanilla cream with hints of fresh baked cake, caramel and light toffee. And its those lighter toffee, caramel and chocolate notes that carry over to a sweeter, maltier early taste.

Deliciously smooth, the malt sweetness quickly rolls into those pastry-like angel food cake flavors with the softness of vanilla and sweet cream. A lighter cocoa and coffee combination comes with notions of powdered sugar before a sensible bitterness of coffee and a light woodsiness trails for a bittersweet finish.

Full bodied but somewhat relaxed on the late palate, the beer shows some serious power in flavor early but fades into a smooth, silky and velvety mouthfeel in the beer's closing taste. A medium-long finish of sweet, milky roast keeps the memory of beer lasting on the tastebuds.

12oz can poured into a tulip

A- pours black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that reduces to a ring

S- aroma is spot on, it smells just like tiramisu; fresh coffee, mocha cream, confectionary sugar, vanilla cream, milk sugars, chocolate, outstanding

T- semi-sweet chocolate up front, quickly followed by and earthy coffee note. Mid-palate gives milk sugars that add a creamy vanilla note. The finish gives more coffee and chocolate, with a sweet lactose linger

M- medium body with moderate-low carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a slightly warming finish

O- taste wasn't as complex as aroma, but still very enjoyable

Aroma is pure candy bar and tiramisu/cake. The flavor is tiramisu/candy bar, roasted malts and a medium sweet/slightly acidic finish.
