It's like the saying goes, "When life gives you mangos, then make mango sour ale." ...or something like that.
Untitled Art's Double Mango Sour kicks off with dense orange hue, completely opaque from its density. A quick rise and fade of froth reveals a juicy, radiant and tantalizing tropical scent that stems from generous amounts of seemingly both mango puree and mango juice concentrate. A rich sweetness of pastry crust, fruit preserves and a fruit rollup, any suggestions of malt come across as cereal laced fruit juices.
As radiant as the beer opens with its full mango complement, the sweetness lifts slightly on the middle palate to reveal an undercurrent of sourness that plays out like lime, lemon, cider and wine. Although the sweetness slowly fades, its juiciness remains and balances the acidity while adding complexity to the mango additions. Trailing into a vinously tangy finish, the beer leaves impressions of bellini, apricot and orange on the late palate.
Full bodied and certainly full for sour ale, the base taste of German Berlinerwiess gets lost in the fruit addition, but does provide a tangy foundation for the fruit. Finishing fruity and tart, the ale extends into a medium length aftertaste of tropical fruit, cider and sourdough.

Served from the tap in a snifter at Consume.
Pours a cloudy Sunny D (maybe one of those flavor-blended versions, accounting for some additional sunrise/sunset shades) topped by a small bit of off-white foam. From there we get what is delivered on the tin: things smell and taste like a lot of mildly tart mango, perhaps with small veins of banal citrus (your oranges, clementines, grapefruits, et cetera) running in the lower strata. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation, a fluid feel, and a sorta/kinda drying finish. You like mangos? Give it a shot. Nope? Prolly just stick with something else on the menu, my son.
