Uncertain whether to make a hazy IPA or a fruited tart ale, Untitled Art settles on Juice Drops- a series that pairs particular hops with carefully selected fruit for a taste to appease a broad spectrum of palates.
Thier Kiwi Wai-itii version of Juice Drops IPA pours with a dense golden appearance with faint translucence. As a foamy and pillowy white cap pulls from the density, the nose is stricken with a fruity, tangy, herbal and doughy collection of perfumes. With the creamy malts hitting the palate early on, the taste of cereal, honeysuckle, light fructose and shortbread come to mind.
As the kiwi take the stage as the ale washes the middle palate, its tangy tropical and light citrusy flavors has the session seeming sour. But the hops rise quickly for its own citrusy tang of lime and grapefruit. Trending graduallly more bitter as the session endures, the flavors take on tropical fruit rinds, cedar, spruce, coconut and lemon pepper in an interplay of bitterness and tartness.
Finishing malty-dry and with a kiss of citrus and tropical fruit, hints of peach deliver a peppery bitterness that edges out the fruit and the lingering malt starches and sweetness for a final frame that makes hop heads happy.
