so many flavored beers from these guys, so many collaborations, such weird flavors and offerings overall, some are awesome, some are truly bad, and there is no real way to tell which is going to be which. this is done with xul, who i am not familiar with. this is pretty rough, all muddled and dull and forced, must be old or something, best almost a year from now, seems a little long for a beer like this to be considered good no? whats the deal with these guys, half the time i feel like they are trying to trick me. cant believe this is 8% abv either, never see this kind of thing that strong, and its well hidden, but neither my wife nor i liked this very much, and we ended up dumping half or more down the drain. its pinkish red and really thick, no head at all, very dull looking. generic sweetness in aroma and flavor from the mango, pulpy and citrusy too, i get a floral hibiscus note, must be from the prickly pear, the dragonfruit is floral too, has some bitterness, and gives off a tangy raspberry note. they call the base a berliner, but im not getting much of that, if this is wheat based its way beneath all the fruit puree, and the sourness is lost to the sweetness of all the fruit too, so this is like floral bitter sweet juice, not like beer, they missed the mark a bit on this one im afraid. its chewy thick, diabetic, and close to still. feels smoothie-like, but this is trying to be too many things and unfortunately one of them isnt beer. i keep trying these untitled art beers and have been quite stoked on a number of them, but there are some misses in the lot for sure. still, glad to have these guys in idaho now, rough as this one was...
