Pitch black. Big rich dark chocolate and cocoa aroma and flavor; a bit warming. Good balance but definitely leans a bit sweet. Medium to full bodied with a rich dark chocolate dessert-like finish.

I'm just not impressed with it. Nice and dark, looks good. But the alcohol comes through so strong. It's harsh.
There are just not many good notes, and it has a metallic quality to it.

Poured from a 12 oz can. This has an essentially black and opaque body with an excellent, durable beige head.

Exceptionally chocolaty and surprisingly similar to the flavor of chocolate truffles. With partially hidden 10% ABV, it's only slightly boozy

The pour is French roasted coffee brown that looks black in the glass. The light brown head reaches three centimeters and dissipated slowly.
The taste is that of decadent chocolate. That’s pretty much it. The name states it is a pastry stout that tries to effect the flavor of dark chocolate truffle, and they come very close, so I’m giving them props for that.
The feel is viscous and rich, or maybe that was my mind making sense of what I was drinking. It was good, regardless.
OA, if you want a dessert stout, this one will work very well.

The best dessert beer I have had this year...

...and my goodness, how good it was. Beautifully black, like black hole black with a tan head and some staying power. The smell was deliciously sweet with notes of chocolate and cinnamon with a creamy mouthfeel that was almost full-bodied. Overall, enjoyed this immensely and will keep it in mind to have on hand when I'm looking for a "liquid" dessert...
