This is a bit of a nod to the early days of The CANQuest (tm), when craft beer in CANs was a novelty & not the norm. As such, if I wanted a CANned beer, I had to settle for whatever was available, often crappy AALs & AMLs. 8=( C'est la guerre!
From the CAN: "Zero Sugar".
Hmm. Why would they tout that?!? Zero added sugar, perhaps? But even then, sugar is not a standard adjunct. Further, "Reverse Osmosis Malt Beverage with Natural & Artificial Flavors and Certified Color."; "Flavored Ale". Say what?!? I'm not buying it as an ale for even a second!
I Crack!ed open the vent for a steady C-Line Glug, but I was unprepared for what I saw. It was greenish-blue in color! 8=O What little head there was quickly dissipated into wisps. Color was the Blue (SRM = N/A) of freshly-spun cotton CANdy, which is what it is supposed to mimic. 8=p It had a light haziness throughout, making it all the more curious. Nose was super sweet & if they had not said that it had zero sugar, I would have thought CANpletely otherwise! Mouthfeel was thin & watery. The taste was even sweeter than the nose, if that was possible. It was like drinking liquefied CANdy! Ugh. Finish was cloyingly sweet. If you ever want a beer real bad, this is a real bad beer! YMMV.
