Served to me on-tap at the brewery in a snifter, this beer draws a somewhat cloudy/hazy, medium to dark brown color with nice, creamy looking white head that's about 2/3, of an inch thick when first drawn and served to me. Settles to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass with practically no lacing. Aromas of somewhat toasted caramel malt sweetness along with an oaked smell and a bit of leather and tobacco. The taste is pretty much the same, with slightly toasted caramel malt sweetness, oaked wine goodness that adds just a hint of tart fruity tannins, and a bit of leather and tobacco. Really interesting and unique flavor profile for this style of beer and very tasty overall. Has a slightly crisp, slightly oily, ammktj and slightly creamy, medium bodies mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a fairly dry aftertaste. A very good beer all around here.
