Muddy opaque brown with red edges, a persistent creamy tan blanket on top forms a thick collar.
Smell is really distinct gas station coffee--and there's nothing wrong with that--as a unique, light char and toasty aroma gives way to cocoa and caramelized brown sugar.
Taste consists of coffee grounds and has an underlying Nut Brown element, as well as a spritz of lemon. The unique combo of malt to achieve the gluten-free aspect is interesting and gives a sort of unusual, tangy lightness.
A soft froth lingers in the medium to light body, finishing semi-dry to dry.

Having this on the nitro tap at the brewery. They also have it on-tap non nitro. Served in a pint glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, almost black color that’s not interested in letting in any light whatsoever. Has a slightly off-white head that’s an inch thick when first served that settles to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass. Not much lacing here sadly. Strong toasted coffee aromas and earthy hops. The taste is pretty much the same, with toasted black coffee bitterness along with some chocolate and caramel hints from the buckwheat, malted millet, and sunflower seeds this beer has instead of barley and or wheat. Rounded out with some earthy hops that add just a bit more bitterness. Good balance of flavors. Pretty sure this is the first gluten free porter I’ve ever had and it’s damn good! Has a crisp, yet smooth, light to medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Certainly a lighter body and mouthfeel than most other porters I’ve had, which I found odd especially for a nitro beer. Easy to drink on a good way with a clean finish.
