Almost black colored beer with a brown pillowy head. Fresh can from last week's release. It's got a lot of malt sweetness, some vanilla flavors behind the chocolate and caramel. Little bit of bitterness and char, not hoppy or anything like that. ABV is hidden since there isn't really any boozy heat, body is verging on heavy but still comes across as drinkable despite the higher alcohol and 16oz format.
Overall it's a tasty imperial stout but lacks the punch of other stouts in its class. Might give this one a few months and I'll try another to see if the sweetness has subsided.

Sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into my snifter. The beer pours a jet black color with a creamy tan head of 2 cm. The foam fades to a thin edge layer and leaves some sparse lattice on my glass. The aroma is mild overall but features some dark chocolate and toffee with some faint roasted malt hits. I dont get any hops nor alcohol notes on the nose. The first sip reveals a lighter body than expected with very fine and gentle carbonation. The texture is smooth and does coat my palate a little after each sip.
Flavor s roasted malt and some dark chocolate. I also get a little dark fruit, but not a lot and in general find the flavor profile to be a little on the mild side. I dont find any hop character and the booze is also very well hidden. I wish this beer was thicker and more robust on the flavor side of things. I had higher hopes, it isnt bad, it just isnt awesome.
