Superfluous is double dry-hopped with some of our favorite American and New Zealand grown hops. Tropical qualities exude from this beauty of an IPA and should be enjoyed fresh.

L: The beer pours a pale gold color with a full haze. A high slow pour yields a massive three and a half fingers of a pillowy, white head with excellent retention. As I drink the beer a massive webbed lacing is left behind.
S: I get candied mango, pineapple, ripe maracuya, grapefruit, a touch of pine, and a grassy herbal note.
T: The palate pretty closely follows the nose where I get a touch of sweet over ripe mango, pineapple, a nice touch of bitter grapefruit pith mixing with ripe maracuya, a light grassy note, and a bit of doughy malt character.
F: This beer has a medium body with medium-low carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and a bit creamy with a minimally dry finish.
O: This is a very good beer. The fine folks at the brewery told me that this is a double dry-hopped version of Headway IPA, but I have to note that this one says on the can that it has American and NZ hops while if I remember correctly the Headway can only references American hops. Either way, I can definitely taste the similarity. This has a nice balance of mango and pineapple juiciness and grapefruit bitterness. The juiciness wins out, but just barely. Highly recommended!

5/18 can consumed on 5/22. Honey colored hazy brew with a huge white head. Big aromas of grapefruit flesh and rind. Flavors of grapefruit and unripened tropical fruit dominate. Lingering herbal bitterness and a vaguely sweet malt. Extremely smooth mouthfeel, but body is a bit heavy for 6.5%
