A: opaque; very dark brown in color; 1 finger finely pored medium brown head that receded to a wispy cap; little lacing;
S: deeply roasted grain and milk chocolate; as it warmed, the dulce de leche took over completely;
T: a very nice balance between deeply roasted grain, milk chocolate, and dulce de leche; mild bitterness at the end;
M: medium to full bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish; hides the ABV extremely well;
O: smooth and dangerous;

Sampling a chilled 16 oz can poured into a snifter. Picked up on release day at the brewery.
The beer pours a dark black coffee color with no light passing through the glass when I hold it to the light. A dense beige head of 1 cm foams up with my gentle pour but fades to almost nothing fairly quickly after settling into the snifter.
The aroma is pretty bold up front with a nice mix of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and some roasted malt. Also a decent hit of light and sweet coffee comes out. Not boozy at all nor any hop presence on the nose.
First sip of this dark brew reveals a silky smooth texture and fine tingly carbonation. The body is fairly thick and it does give me a sticky coating on my palate after each sip. Definitely a bigger bodied beer which fits for the style.
Flavor is fairly sweet with some chocolate and brown sugar mixing, but again light and sweet coffee dominates. Light and sweet because I would add a ton of sugar and creamers. So this isnt a black coffee presence. I get a little bit of vanilla mixing in and some roasted note lingers after each swallow.
No booze hint and the hops are not showing either.
This is a big beer with fair amount of sweetness and roast character. QUite sneaky 10% ABV to be honest. Glad to have tried this and glad to have 2 more cans left in my fridge!
