Show Pony is a pilsner that was dry hopped with Hallertau, Mittelfruh, and Saaz hops, and conditioned in our oak foeder. The result is a combination of well-integrated notes of hay, dried flowers, mild noble hop spice, and a soft oakiness.

A: crystal clear; medium gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded to a splotchy cap; light lacing;

S: quite floral; a hint of hop spice;

T: floral - more so than in the aroma; very light hop spice and just a kiss of oak;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish;

O: refreshing; makes you want to come back for another sip; I would have liked a little more oak;

Sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into a snifter. No canning date.
The beer pours a crystal clear golden color with a large billowing bleached white head of 4 cm foaming up even with a gentle pour. Several active streams of carbonation rise to the surface. The foam fades slowly leaving large craters on the surface and windowpane lattice on my glass.
the aroma on the beer is some light straw or hay, a bit of sweet graininess and hints of grassy hops and maybe lemon peel.
First sip reveals a light and crisp body with very fine and tingly carbonation. Beer drinks super easy and it would be easy to put several of these back in a session on the physical side of things.
Flavor is clean and what is anticipated for this beer. Starts with some hay and grass and again I get lemon and some light sweetness here too. Finish is some herbal and spicy hops and also very dry.
All around interesting and enjoyable beer with super easy drinking character. A nice pils.

L: Pours a nice straw color with great clarity. A nice slow pour results in a three finger white head that has good retention and leaves a good amount of webbed lacing.

S: Fresh cut hay and alfalfa, a touch of spiciness, a bit of floral character, and light notes of oak.

T: I get lots of grass and hay character. Mid palate I get some citrus notes (light lemon maybe) and a bit of malt graininess. On the back end I get floral notes mixed delicate overtones of oak with a light noble hop spiciness on the finish which has a light bitterness. There is also a very gentle sourness that creeps up on the finish as the glass goes down.

F: Light body with a medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean with a bit of a dryness on the finish.

O: Amazing pilsner! This one is a bit rustic but it really works for me. It has a nice complexity on the palate and a nice clean finish. This may be my favorite pils from Counterweight. Highly Recommended!
