Doppelbock lager, with its dark ruby hues, is filled with notes of caramel and rich toasted brown bread. Wonderfully malty and rounded.

Sampling a cold 16 oz can that I poured into my .5L dimple mug. I picked up these cans at the brewery about 3 weeks ago, canned on date is 3/12/21.
The beer pours a rich deep mahogany color with some light ruby highlighting on the sides of the glass. A spongey beige head of about 2 cm foams up and fades to a thin edge layer soon after the pour. There are a few small wispy islands on the surface too.
The aroma is malty through and through with caramel and toffee notes and a bit of a brown sugar note. Nose is more mild than I anticipated for the beer, but is clean and appropriate for the style. NO hop character to speak of on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium to slightly thicker and sticky body. Carbonation is very fine and very tingly, foams up if I swish the beer in my mouth. Definitely a little heavier beer and malt forward.
The flavor is caramel, toffee, and finishes with some toasted grainy notes. The toasted note is sort of like a multigrain bagel flavor after being in the toaster. Not sure that is doing it justice, but it is what Ive got right now. Hops still dont really show up, but there is just the hint of a black pepper bite on the finish, which I attribute to higher ABV levels.
Another great beer from CounterWeight!
