A: hazy; medium gold in color; 1+ finger finely pored ivory head that receded to a a wispy cap with a moderate tight collar; OK lacing;

S: orange and pineapple with a hint of grapefruit;

T: floral with orange blossom and lime; pink grapefruit comes through on the finish and is dominant in the aftertaste; mild bitterness at the end;

Poured from a 16oz can stamped CANNED ON 7/11/22 to a Nonic glass at fridge temp.
The body is a bright apricot orange and a large ultra-white puffy head sits on top.
The aroma is sweet with a sense of orange, grapefruit and peach.
Taste is sweet and fruity in the front but there is a great hop oriented dry finish.
There is a medium mouth coating smoothness to the feel.
A good example of the style.

Refreshing not too sweet and not too bitter. Good balance.

Pours a beautiful yellow. Finely bubbled, thin head. Nose is faintly floral. A delicate melange, evocative of vanilla or some other ethereal note. Soft fruit, possibly papaya. Very inviting. First sip has the pink grapefruit mentioned on the label. The Creamy middle fades into a pithy, dry finish that certainly evokes a grapefruit vibe. A little oxygen slurp brings out more citrus. This is precisely what I think of as CTIPA. The 6.2 abv is ideal, making this an extremely rewarding soft sipper without any undue sweetness or the excess alcohol notes of a DIPA or heavy-handed neipa. This beer is a demonstration of nuance and balance and is artful in its tact and delivers just the right balance of flavor/body/mouthfeel/finish for the style. I wish the label disclosed the hops involved. Excellent. My cans are fresh (date stamped only five days ago) and at $11.99 for four pints this is an exceptional value. I’ve been waiting to find a Counterweight single ipa offering that rivals Headway and this might be the one. Precious Petals indeed.
