Inviting roasty notes, with light cocoa and dark chocolate flavors throughout.

A: appears opaque and very dark brown, but if held to the light, it's crystal clear with really nice mahogany highlights; less than a 1 finger light tan head that receded to a wispy cap with a thick collar; nice lacing;
S: black coffee and bittersweet chocolate;
T: follows the nose for a moment, then deeply roasted grain through the middle; finish is balanced between deeply roasted grain and black coffee; moderate bitterness at the end;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: nicely done; more complexity of flavor than many other dry Irish stouts;

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can and pouring into my 0.5 L Dimple mug. Date stamp on can is 3/06/2025.
The beer pours a dark coffee brown color with light passing through only on the edges of my mug. A fizzy beige head foams up about 1 cm and fades to a thin edging with a few wispy islands.
Aroma is dark chocolate and roasted malt, maybe a little bit of burnt sugar. Not really any hop note.
First sip reveals a lighter body and very fine tingly carbonation. Texture is smooth and the beer drinks very easy.
Flavor follows the lead of the aroma. Loads of roasted malts and dark chocolate and cacao. Still not really a hop note and certainly no booze. Beer dries out on each swallow.
Very easy drinking , roast forward stout. Seems to fit the bill for the day. Glad I picked up a 4 pack!

From draft at a restaurant in Southport, CT on St. Patrick’s Day. Guinness was not available, but this was a fine substitute. Very tasty.
