A: opaque; very dark brown - almost black in color; a1+ finger finely pored tan head that receded to a thick, tight collar;
S: bourbon and vanilla with a bit of dark fruit; notes of port as well;
T: follows the nose from start to finish; the resemblance to port is more pronounced in the flavor; on the sweeter side; but some bitterness at the end;
M: medium to full bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish;
O: a really nice sipper;

Poured from a bottle at fridge temp. Pours dark brown with a thin layer of bubbly light brown head. Carbonation looks good. The nose is toffee, big malts, slight roasty note, figs, whiskey.
The taste is incredible. Werther's caramel candy all the way. Brown sugar, molasses, slight maple, bourbon, raisin, bread, malts, slight leather, and prunes. Excellent beer! Totally love it.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Easily as flavorful as a much higher ABV beer.

I am sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter. I purchased the bottle at the brewery on their release weekend for this beer. Pretty excited to try this one TBH.
The beer pours a clear rich mahogany color, which reveals some light passing through my glass, but not much. A dense, fine creamy head of 2 cm foams up and remains as a sturdy surface covering throughout my sampling.
Aroma is some toffee and brown sugar which is overtaken by some sweeter bourbon. Not really boozy though and hops are absent on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture and a bit of coating on my lips and palate. Carbonation is very fine and prickly on my tongue. No warmth on the finish on this brew.
Flavor is sweeter malt with toffee and brown sugar, bourbon comes through and hints of vanilla are there. I do get some black peppery bite on the finish, but no heat or warming. Again, hops are not present on this beer.
This is a pretty tasty brew that is malt forward and features bourbon, but isnt overpowered by it. Glad to have tried this one.
