This is the first beer I've had from the Abashiri Brewery, located far to the north in Hokkaido on the Sea of Okhotsk. Their port is filled with ice flows from Russia in the wintertime.
Their is virtually no head to speak of, and the smell is unremarkable. However, the mouthfeel and taste are of above-average quality. The taste, as expected is light but delivers somehow a complex, smooth hops punch. Carbonation seems absent but ambushes upon gulping and fills the mouth with a smooth tingle. This is a very drinkable pilsener that I would go for again.

This beer seems completely different from the one I had last time...I don't know what to make of that. This time it's got good lacing and a smell and taste that speaks of apples and pears, with fruity hops in the background. Very good--exceptionally drinkable. A slightly cloudy appearance.
