L- Deep amber and very murky. Pours with 3mm white head, slowly reducing to lacing.
S- Mild rich citrus and some spicing, coriander notable.
T- It's like a good weissbrau just with say double the spicing, there is a meaty maltiness to it too.
F- Quite a meaty body, with er zingy spicing around it. I'm quite surprised to see that it's only 4.5% it comes over as more than that.
O- From Hokkaido, home of some of the best skiing east of the Alps. I can imagine an evening on this after a day of the pistes, and session in the onsen (hot-tub) pools. It's like an amped up Weissbrau, with a Japan-centric bit of extra richness on one hand, and a bit less hoppy-dryness for similar reasons. Nice to try, unlikely to come across this one again any time soon!
Bought from the Japan Centre near Leicester Square in London. BB 10/Sep/2019 350ml can. Reduced from a jaw-dropping £7.89[!!] to £1.58 = 80% off.
ps lable states it's brewed with 'Barley, wheat, hops, orange peel + coriander seed.'

350 ml white can from Hokkaido at the Chitose Airport (Sapporo). BB date stamped 2018-10-12.
The body is clear and pale tan-amber colored. It has a generous white head with good retention and plenty of lacing.
Spicy and floral aroma. Bolder flavor than expected with spicy hops, and fainter banana, tropical fruits and wheat notes.
Smooth, medium body with lively, medium carbonation.

Abashiri White Ale in a can: Pours a cloudy unfiltered straw golden colour with a thick head of froth with relatively good retention and lacing on the glass. Aroma is typical of a witbier - wheat, malt, especially of bread and dough, and coriander spices. Strangely enough, no orange or peel notes at all, nor in the taste as well. Taste is mainly malty, full of wheat and bread and biscuit flavours, with a slight hint of spice from the coriander, and somewhat sweetish. Note that the wheat used is grown in the Abashiri, Hokkaido region of Japan where the brewery is located.
