Cold War is dry, crisp, and hoppy. It is wetter than a West Coast and crisper than your favorite lager. It has a clean and confident bitterness with a bold, dry finish that makes it crushable. It would be your favorite session beer if it weren’t for the sneaky

The whole "cold IPA" category, in my opinion, is pretty questionable. But I try to give it a fair shake.
This pours very pale, slightly hazy, with a small head that quickly fades. It offers a pine-resin hop aroma nose, but it's faint. Taste up front is bitter, more so than other "cold IPAs" I've had, not too bad, but that's the whole taste: no malt at all, surprising for the strength of the beer. It's very dry. Light bodied, surprising for the strength, not substantial at all, but that does make it more drinkable, in my opinion.

20250317 date code Pours a hazy pee yellow color and small head. Smells of piney hops with lots of citrus. Soap. I get the piney, citrus, funky taste. Feels carbonated, crisp, sharply lemony at times. Good IPA bitterness. The second time I had it before I reviewed Cold War. Give it another chance. My 12 ounce can says 5% alcohol.

L-Slightly hazy body, heavy carbonation, finger and a half soapy head with nice carbonation.
S-Grainy, lemony, tropical fruit, barnyard, piney sappyness and greenery on the nose.
T-A nice, refined and piney flavor, slightly citrusy, slightly sweet, and a grainy bitter finish. Refreshing and refined flavor.
F- Crisp, refreshing, dry mouthfeel.
O- A complex, interesting, refreshing cold IPA. Crushable and delicious. Would have again.

Look: semi-clear golden/yellow with a thick white head
Aroma: tropical fruit, citrus, herbs, pine
Flavor: The flavor is tropical fruit, citrus, pineapple, maybe coconut in the Cold War one, and there's a grassy/onion/pine and grapefruit rind bitterness at the end.
Body/Overall: Dry and crisp, light, and well carbonated. Interesting but not necessarily my favorite style.

16oz canned 1-27-22, opened 2-12-22.
2 finger white head with great retention. Golden with tons of carbonation swirling around and just a touch of haze. Wispy lacing. Ripe pineapple, some onion/wild garlic, plastic bag...almost get a Strata-esque nose here. Pungent hop flavors, passion fruit/tropical, pineapple and a hint of coconut. Zesty citrus peel. Light body with medium plus carbonation. Hoppy, medium-length dry finish. Very Good.

Dry, light, and subtle citrus, not too much haze. No overwhelming flavors. Well-balanced American style IPA. Yellow-gold in color. Small head on pour. 16oz can I to 16oz English pint. Decent hop aroma. Great, full mouth.
