This crisp wheat beer boasts a creamy hefeweizen body with notes of banana and clove complemented by notes of orange and vanilla. This Old Brick will remind you of an Orange Creamsicle.

Lock 15 Old Brick Orange Cream
Live review (evening of July 15th, 2022). Poured from a 16 oz. Can purchased about a year ago at the brewery. Message on bottom of can is: Canned on 06/01/20. 12.58.43. STOP THE RIOTS. Now THAT (the last little message imprinted on the bottom of the can) is something the brewers and I can agree on!
From the website: About the name: Old Brick is the nickname of the old farmhouse at the Hale Farm. Hale Farm dates back to 1810, and was passed down over 150 years through three generations of the Hale family until Old Brick and the surrounding land was donated to the Western Reserve Historical Society which later became Hale Farm & Village.
From can: ABV: 4.5%. IBU: 8. SRM: 3.7. Orange Vanilla Wheat Ale
Poured from can into a clean, clear glass.
A: Translucent light yellow body under a moderately substantial light head that lingers for a minute or two. Fair look. 3.0
S: Orange creamsicle sweetness with VERY little hops and very light roast malt. This is like one of those “push ups” that I used to get from the ice cream truck that came through our neighborhood. It may not be a usual smell for a beer but it is very inviting! 4.0
T: Taste flows directly from the smell. This is a push up with a kick of alchohol and some mild hops. Very sweet but rather flat (taste dissipates quickly). 4.0
M: Feel is more thin that I would like. This beer would be AWESOME if there was more of a creamy, more thick feel. 2.5
D: Drinkability is pretty high with its manageable ABV and delicious sweetness. 4.5
Once again, a more fresh can would likely allow the beer to present well but I do not detect much of a difference from when I first tasted this shortly after purchasing it last year.

16 ounce can, canned on 04/13/2020. Served in a Bell's Spiegelau wheat beer glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy golden/orange color with about a half inch white head that stuck around for a while. Decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like orange, vanilla, wheat/grainy malt and some coriander. The brew tastes like orange, vanilla, wheat/grainy malt, coriander, clove, banana and bubblegum. It does have a creamsicle taste to it, but I wish the vanilla and orange was stronger. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy to drink. I thought it was a refreshing brew, but something just didn't work for me on this one. Don't think the hefe and creamsicle flavors meshed all that well. Worth a try if you come across a can.
