Lock 15 ACME Fresh IPA
From Website: Lock 15 Brewing Company teamed up with Acme Fresh Market to bring you an exclusive new beer, the Acme Fresh IPA! This American IPA has a subtle malt backbone that finishes dry. It has balanced bitterness complimented by orange and grapefruit hop notes. TYPE: AMERICAN IPA ABV: 6.8%. IBU: 59. SRM: 5.3
Crack open an Acme Fresh IPA and picture one of the first Acme stores, painted bright yellow and located just a hop skip and jump from Lock 15’s current location. In honor of our shared place, our two local companies have partnered to create a world class IPA for your enjoyment. Here’s to yesterday, today, and tomorrow too!
Served from 16 ounce can that I bought about a year ago at the brewery into a clean, clear glass. Reviewed this evening, June 25th, 2022.
A; Translucent golden body under a nice, meringue like head. Good look. 4.0
S: Hop centric bitterness balanced out with some melon sweet notes. 4.0
T: Grapefruit hops bitterness of front with waves of the melon sweetness but then the bitterness makes a comeback in the taste with a long, bitter finish on the back and the outside of my tongue. Very appropriate for the style, a solid tasting beer. 3.5
M: Feel is a bit harsh with the hops bitterness but it is appropriately balanced with the malt. Fairly good feel. 3.5
D: Just fine but the bitterness and relatively high ABV (not compared with the style but compared to an average beer) make the drinkability about fair. Overall it is a solid beer, a nice tribute to ACME stores! 3.5
