L: Caramel red. Partly clear. Khaki head.
S: Roasty toasty tangy barley. Not unlike a Sammy Smiths Nut Brown.
T: Tastes fine. Emphasis on the malt as a red ale should. Moderate and approachable.
F: Fine. Better than Nut Brown because it's lighter and zappier
O: Double Wing Red Ale competes with Conways Irish Ale handily.

12 ounce can, no dating on it but the bottom is stamped with "QUARANTINE". Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a reddish/brown color with about a half inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. I like the aroma, the brew smells like caramel, toffee, and butterscotch. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some breadiness and raisin flavors. Reminds me of a Scottish Ale somewhat. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, certainly worth picking up if you're into maltier red ales!
