16oz can poured into a tulip.
Pours a glowing copper/burnt golden; small light khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing.
The aromas have the usual suspects when it comes to Christmas spices. Cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Hints of caramel. Malts are there.
The flavors follow the nose. More Christmas spices. It's mildly tart and sour with a touch of vinegar, which starts off odd but quickly works well. There's also a solid sweetness to this one, but it's not quite over the top. More caramel along with some mild hints of cocoa in the mix. Some raw honey as well. Really nice cinnamon flavors in the finish. Low bitterness. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed.
Mouthfeel is medium to full-bodied with soft carbonation. It's fluffy and smooth.
This is a pretty solid Christmas Ale. It's basically everything that you'd expect from a "Northeast Ohio Christmas Ale". It checks all of the boxes. Well done. I like it.
