Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy, medium golden amber with fine, half finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of mildly caramel malt, tropical and citrus hops, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, lemon; fruity. Flavor is dry caramel malt, citrus hops, dried mixed tropical fruit, orange and grapefruit, oddly starts bitter and ends more mellow and fruity. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Looks and smells like a hazy NE style IPA, but has an unusual flavor profile, with the bitterness right at the start, then non-identifiable mixed fruit into a fruity finish where a little bitterness lingers. This style often has too little hop bitterness for me, but this one delivers a good kick to start. The fruit flavors are a bit muddled, but complex and the caramel notes may be from the hops rather than the malt, I really can't tell. I was a little on the fence on this one, but it won me over with its interesting hop bill and a satisfying hop bitterness. The aroma has much more distinct fruit notes than the taste. Kind of different for this style. Quite drinkable.
