Poured from 16oz can into a tulip. A tulip glass -- the traditional serving vessel for a malt liquor.
Appearance: light straw-orange hue with a dash of haze and a thin finger of frothy ivory foam atop. It's a thing!
Smell: sweet with a dash of malt and plenty of cooked corn. It's not the worst thing in the world, but at the end of the day -- it still smells like malt liquor.
Taste: actually, surprisingly, not too bad. Kind of like an imperial cream ale; there's plenty of corn here, but also a smooth malty character and some reasonable hop bitterness. I'm not saying I love it, but for the style, it is pretty damn good.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it is a damn good malt liquor, which means it is probably worse than 98% of beers out there. I am certainly glad I tried it, but it's definitely a novelty. If you are a connoisseur of the style, it's absolutely worth trying. If you are merely a fan of beer -- you can give it a pass.
