a really fantastic bottle of beer here, i am loving the wild ones from matchless. this is done with a whole load of blackberries, and represents some of the most natural blackberry character i have known in any beer, great pungency, authenticity, and character without being sugary. i think the sourness highlights the fruit well, and overall the beer is excellent! its kind of got a sour red or flanders type base to me, a little sweet malty for a minute, a little fruit vinegar character to the sourness, its not just generic acidity, and its quite puckery overall. the fruit defines it though, from the color to the bursting jammy quality to the almost baked finish, really incredible showcase of the fruit. its not all sour either, get some cool farmy funk to, an almost lambic sort of maturity, and a subtle uniqueness that sets it apart on the fermentation side as well. decent carbonation, a lot of sharpness and sting to it as it warms, more and more flanders-esque the longer it sits, and some gritty sediment in the bottom of the bottle slowing me down, but this is epic stuff, perhaps a little much for one guy as a solo mission, world class beer through, a memorable blackberry experience and another great wild one from matchless, who keeps blowing my mind every time i drink their beer! this is not to be missed! so much blackberry, i taste it for hours!
