Poured from 16oz tall can into a tulip. There is no canning date provided. This is a collaboration with Redhook Brewlab on Capitol Hill in Seattle.

Appearance: golden body with a mild-to-moderate haze which adds a bit of a shimmery quality to the look. Head is a finger of frothy ivory foam; overall it's an attractive beer.

Smell: floral aroma with a little bit of graininess to the malt; this remind me of a lot of pale ales I've had. It's what I call "soapy", although not necessarily in a bad way.

Taste: biscuity malt, a fair bit of sweetness, and highly floral hops -- basically exactly what the aroma promises. An interesting Pilsner, although maybe not one I'd reach for on a regular basis.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a great big carbonation. Maybe not super "creamy", per se, but I like the texture.

Overall: a decent enough beer, and if you're into the style it's worth checking out. For me, it's got a bit too much floral character to be super drinkable.

a collaboration with brewlab, who i am not familiar with, but an awesome new zealand pils here, which really should maybe be its own style category, more and more are popping up, and this is a wonderful style for spring drinking. this is done with wakatu and motueka hops, tasteful dosed but still super distinct, and its a not overly refined but easy drinking lager beneath the hops, solid beer, a crusher. there is some sediment at the bottom of the can, and the beer isnt quite clear, but it froths up a nice head with a little vigor on the pour, and its got plenty of bubbles. aroma and flavor of lime, white wine, and dill and fennel to me, very herbal, still juicy, gooseberry and tea, lots going on, but its all quite delicate for what it is, and it has an almost noble hop bitterness at the end as well, bringing it back into pilsener realm. the lagering is clean and complete, the malt is fresh and sturdy for what this is, and the whole thing is bright and drinkable and different in a subtle way. these hops are awesome in a good lager base like this, and the only thing missing is a dozen more of them and a boat on the water! another fine matchless brew, modern and distinctive, great use of the hops here, yum.
