Picked a bottle of this up from the brewery when there in August...cracking it open a month later, back home in MN.

Here's what the brewery's description says: "Blueberries from both Black River Blues and Aldrich Blueberries come together with multiple sour and Saison base beers, in three different wine barrels to create a tart, dry and softly tannic drinking experience."

Poured into a Town Hall tulip, a deep purple/russet that is dark and murky enough that I can't see through it... small pill-white head quickly dissipates, Nose has lots of tannins, some faintly musty white grapes, some oak barrel, and lots of simultaneoulsy tart and juicy berry...better and better as it warms up a bit from the 40 degrees my fridge had it at. Taste has a lot of the tart zippy berry, pretty decent dose of tannic acidity, a little less funk and barrel than I had expected from the nose. Mouthful, i find a little bit odd: the vineagar-like acidity and zippy edge (fairly high carbonation) work somehow undermine the full sour potential it has...I didn't get a very satisfying pucker from this one, which is not a deal-breaker, but still seems like a missed opportunity. Also, it doesn't really develop over the course of the mouthful or linger on the tongue quite enough to be ideal. But maybe that's too high a bar...not saying it isn't enjoyable. The blueberry is fantastic and deliciously tart.
