This hazy IPA hopped all the way across the road from New England to Tumwater. It jumped on a log in Yakima to get some El Dorado, Ella, Galaxy & Centennial hops; giving it a briefcase full of tropical fruit notes like lychee, mango and passionfruit and the bright citrus zip of grapefruit flavor and aroma. It was a heck of a commute! Now it’s time to lounge on a lily pad with a Hopper Hazy IPA.

Pours an orange/amber color with a medium to large foamy head. Aroma is tropical & citrus fruit with some sweetness. Taste is the same with a touch of hop bite. Very flavorful and easy drinking with a creamy mouthfeel. BOD 11-17-2025

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 11/25/24.
Appearance: dark yellow hue with plenty of thick haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: sweet malt with a rather dank & herbal hop component. But, you know, juicily dank and herbal.
Taste: moderately sweet malt, with an earthy, herbal hop component. There’s maybe a little citrus peel in there too, but it’s not quite as dank as in the aroma. Interesting, and not too bad.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a different take on a juicy IPA, it doesn’t have a ton of what reads as “fruity” character to me. Interesting, and actually a good beer, although I probably won’t go back to this particular well.

16oz can (dated 12/14/2020) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a muddy dirty brown color with 1/2 inch of dirty white head that moderate retention and lacing.
The aroma was pretty dull and muted; some frootiness and a bit of citrus. Low-to-no malt.
Similar on the tongue, the difference being the hops popped more and were brighter.
The body was the typical light-medium of the style, was smooth, had good carb, and a semi-dry finish.
Drinkability was OK, if this style is your thing.
Overall, a fairly average example.
