Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a quarter finger dark khaki head that dissipates to a thin cap with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, hazelnuts, cocoa and vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted and biscuit malt, hazelnuts, milk chocolate and light vanilla. Finishes malty and nutty. Medium bodied with silky moderate; nice mouth feel. A rich, malty stout with the most authentic tasting hazelnuts I've had in a nut stout. As with earlier versions of this stout, the chocolate is full bodied and robust. There's a hint of hop bitterness in the finish, which is a little boozy, but flavorful. A little sweet, but does not reach pastry stout levels. A quite luxurious and tasty stout. Nicely done.
