Inspired by a Ginger Bourbon Fizz cocktail, this strong ale was aged in second-use Bourbon barrels for 7 months and then got fresh lemons and ginger added before canning. Big notes of whiskey, lemon and ginger. I think I’ll have another one of them ginger thingies.

This is described as a "whiskey-barrel aged ale with lemon and ginger," inspired by a cocktail. Dark amber-brown with adequate foam i the Brigand chalice. Quite sharp with some prickly carbonation. Hot with alcohol, it tastes like what I'd imagine a Ginger Bourbon Fizz to be. bold aroma of all those ingredients. Warm with brown sugar.
Quite sweet but also sharpened up by the acidity. Tastes quite lemony and the ginger is distinct. For what it's worth, the hops are Sterling. Overall this novelty quite sippable and a nice change from the usual barrel-aged dark beers. From the 16 oz can purchased at Central Market. Dated 7/12/2021.
