For this year’s trip down the chocolate river we decided to take the spice route down through the cinnamon tunnel. It's the same decadent Imperial Chocolate Stout aged in Westward whiskey barrels and blended with whole vanilla beans & cacao nibs but with whole cinnamon sticks as well to add a smooth additional layer of spice.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Year old bottle stored in the fridge. Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with good retention and lacing Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, cinnamon, light whiskey and vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, cinnamon, light oak and mild whiskey. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant cinnamon and chocolate stout. Sturdy, slightly sweet malt base supports the chocolate and cinnamon flavors. Cinnamon is added with a light touch and gives a bit of a Mexican chocolate character. Nicely done.
