so fun to get to drink beer from these guys, i love everything they do. this is a nice low alcohol dry hopped golden ale type, a little hazy, some character to the malt despite being so dry and low alcohol, and with a cool southern hemisphere hop profile and very low bitterness for all this flavor, well made and real drinkable for the incoming warmer weather, a nice release for this time of year. it uses phantasm, which is both white winey in here and also makes the hops pop, fruity all the way, canned pineapple and mandarin orange, meyer lemon, lemongrass, and even mango, tropical and juicy in the non annoying way. perhaps slightly green, not biting or harsh or anything, but close to as saturated as it can really be, pleasant still, but there are a lot of hops in here to be sure. low alcohol but still medium bodied, a tad rich even on the grain side, more substantial than most blonde types, but i like this running a little long on the back end, more time for the hops to unfurl. really this is almost a session ipa due to hop intensity. i would have liked to spend a little more time with this one, but i crushed it as i was hustling. i want more beer like this to exist, hops can express themselves uniquely in beer that isnt hazy ipa, and this is a great reminder of that often forgotten reality. leave it to matchless...
