nice beer, maybe different hops every year? amarillo from roy this year, love roy, less in love with the varietal, it hits almost noble here, grassy as they come, hay bale and just a bit of like decomposing heat, like an unturned compost bin, that kind of thing, but flattering, a touch sweet, clearer than i thought it would look, frothy headed and airy the whole time, light in mouthfeel, not bitter at all, and with hints of red berry that bring some uniqueness to it, less fresh now but its still obvious its a fresh hop beer, and thats cool, less intense than many, almost like a pale, pleasant and it takes some time to get it. light up front spice in the flavor, raspberry leaf, nice golf course first tee very early in the morning, a small divot even, but a good shot, cooked lemon too, growing and lush. some sweetness that must be from the malt, extending something that seems to want to be quicker, at first im not sure but i end up liking how it lingers and lasts. bitterness is middling, body is light, carbonation excellent from the tap, and while i wish i caught this closer to when it was kegged, it was a nice pour and i remain interested in and stoked on matchless more or less across the board, so glad to have them available in idaho now!

Fresh hop version, canned 9/16/24
Aggressive pour still results in a low level of aroma. Very full body, no doubt from the wheat and oats. Touch of dankness. Can states fresh hop variety is Amarillo, which seems a little lost here. Otherwise, the finish is fine, no off flavors, just no real excitement.
