Dark brown color. Aroma is sweet, caramel, brown, almost coffee-like. Flavor is very sweet throughout and lingers into the aftertaste. The caramel flavor is very strong. Lots of brown character. The upfront flavor isn't bitter but the aftertaste has a lingering / building bitter, metallic flavor that is slightly off-putting. It has excellent body and no astringency. Overall, it's pretty decent for a beer that is 9.5%!

Completely opaque, black look. Very thick and fine, light brown head with much lacing. Subtle, slightly sweet, toasted wood aroma, with the slightest hint of bubblegum. Dark toasted wood flavor, with a tiny hint of sweetness and a firm and lasting sharpness, which is the main flavor. Medium mouthfeel.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown with very little light transmission in the glass and a one finger khaki head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of dark malt, peanut butter, cocoa and faint cola. Flavor is dark toasted and biscuit malt, peanut butter, dry caramel and light bakers chocolate and nuts. Peanut brittle finish, although not as sweet. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. An interesting brown ale with peanut butter. The main flavor is unsweetened peanut butter with milder chocolate and caramel notes. A light sweetness fades in and out of the taste, but not as sweet as expected and no where near a pastry stout level. There is a light char flavor from the stout component that is unexpected, making the flavor more complex, but a bit odd. I'm a fan of peanut butter stouts, and this works pretty well for me too. A little more chocolate flavor would bring out the peanut butter cup character, but this is enjoyable as is. A unique ale that tastes oddly seasonal, although peanut butter isn't a winter flavor. ABV well covered, good job.
