Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 10/21/24 … so maybe getting a bit long in the tooth.

Appearance: medium orange hue with plenty of haze and a finger of ivory foam.

Smell: moderately sweet malt with a light hint of zippy tropical aroma that is somewhere between Hawaiian Punch and Sunny Delight (but just light, not overwhelming). There’s an orange peely, pineappley aroma too that has a bit of an edge to it that I’m not super fond of, but it’s not enough to make me dislike the aroma.

Taste: sweet malt base with plenty of orange peel, grapefruit rind, and pineapple. I like it, although there’s still that hint of something sharp that I’m not super in love with. I think I’m definitely tasting what an earlier reviewer tasted in its “sharpness”, but it’s not super prominent in the picture. Perhaps a bit of time took the edge off a bit? Still … I don’t think I’d order a second one.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a generally good beer with some flaws. Wouldn’t order another one, like I said, but it’s also not putting off of trying more Matchless beers.

Hazy amber brew with ample foam in the Timmermans goblet. Aroma of orange and lemon. Fruity flavors of peach with a lime peel and grapefruit finish. Sharp and verging on acidic after some sipping. Very bitter aftertaste with the sweet fruit still on the lips. I suppose this is a West-East coast hybrid, but it's rather harsh. Not a favorite. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 10/21/2024.
