cool to have so much matchless beer around idaho lately, this one has been staring me in the face awhile and tonight was the night, just a single can, pink and tart, light on the fruit which is cool actually, i like real fruit fermented dry, and it seems like thats what we have here, lots of carbonation activity too so it really drinks light and easy for a sour, nice little beer, although one felt like enough. pinkish orange but not red, fizzy but not much head after a minute or so, bubbly like a soda pop. the nose is tart red fruit, cherry year but i could be cranberry or cheap rose wine too, pleasant and simple, maybe white wheat and a little pils malt, but this isnt grainy and its real basic, sourness is clean, lemony, and north of medium without being too aggressive, not a ton to this, a little red hard candy maybe as it warms, but not sweet overall. the flavor is about this same, light funk as it sits, white wine and white wine vinegar, piquant red fruit, cherry and maybe raspberry together, a touch medicinal but good, and just barely enough grain to stay beery, but its vinous too, twangy and with a sort of concrete and petrichor minerality, good, earthy, i like it being drier, almost a greek yogurt lactic thing, generic citrus, not overly fruited really, tannic and fast to finish and very carbonated, large bubbles and tons of them. neat no frills brew here, not their most compelling in this space, but its always great drinking matchless stuff and this one is fun and thats the point...
