*Just sip right back and you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip. That started from a northwest port, aboard a tiny ship. Although it takes just 30 minutes (and not 3 hours) by boat between Olympia and Tacoma, we made the most of our time in dreaming up this collaboration IPA. Thanks to our first mates at Tacoma’s Narrows Brewing for helping us utilize Mosaic, Erebus and Idaho 7 hops making this hazy IPA prefect for a 30 Minute Tour you need to take.

cool to see a mess of new matchless cans in the market recently, this one done with narrows brewing, which is a cool spot, loved my visit there. i would have bought this anyway, but the erebus hops its made with really sold me, not sure i have heard of that varietal before, also mosaic and idaho 7 in here, and its quite unique in flavor, even though i think the beer overall isnt quite amazing, a little messy to me, but it has me eager to try more with erebus, so successful in that regard, im intrigued now, and it was a nice one to share with my father in law on one of the first nice days of spring, drinking beer outside after a long winter just hits different. it has a pale peachy color from the can but is almost sort of greyish looking, maybe not quite peak freshness as this is from early december, pretty murky but not overly dense i guess, average white head with some lace, and an aroma that hits slightly soapy and first, but then with candied lemon, coconut, pineapple, and a berry kind of thing, the erebus is the unique part obviously, and its right in the middle or both the aroma and the flavor, some idaho 7 green onion and grassiness later with some light oxidation kind of make it sag a bit, but the peak hop moments are excellent to my senses. muddled berry and pineapple in the center, fruit punchy character, like non specific red fruit, but also orange and some tropical warmth to it, i wish the rest of this were cleaner, some bitterness is there late, some light sulfur to me too as it warms, and a rawness to the grain that is almost floury, weird. i didnt totally love this as such, but the part of the hop profile that is unique is enough in a very samey style space right now to make up for a beer thats a little bit lackluster overall, but i know freshness is a factor here. ill track down more beers with erebus, its distinctive right in the middle, some catty mosaic character ramps up in the second half and kind of overrides it, but not before it can make an impression. the quality isnt quite up to the level i expect from these guys, but they have had issues with freshness in idaho since the beginning, and its still a thing, a shame, but glad to have had this one anyway with the new ingredient in it!

Pours a hazy golden with medium head. Aroma is citrus hops; taste is the same with not much bitterness. It has a light mouthfeel, but overall decent and tasty. It's a little better than the score reflects. Mahoney's Taphouse

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
