really nice fresh, easy, flavorful pale ale in memory of bob weir, my wife picked that up on the packaging before i did, well done babe! cool tribute, had to buy this, all pils malt based which is neat and on trend, chinook and krush a formidable hop combination, to me the latter kind of drives it, but they play well together, and this stays in the pale ale space despite the hop load, not pushing into ipa as some of them kind of do, i like this a lot and am jazzed to still have a few cans in the fridge. insofar as bobs contribution to the world can be commemorated in a beer, i think this is kind of fitting, casual but serious, unique but also timeless, and certainly something that leaves the consumer eager for more, its a fun tip pf the cap. blonde and lightly hazy, really bubbly with a wispy white head on top, love the high carbonation activity and the pale color, its truly dancing and shaking its bones. aroma and flavor come together in step, big berry and lemon from the krush, a little appropriate weedy dank character from the chinook, strawberry lemonade kind of happening, a little grassy freshness, light slightly crackery grain base and a way out of the way body, dry on the palate but with some permeating hop oils adding a little staying power and recall, or perhaps an encore if you will in this context, one more saturday night or something. fresh and bright springy drinkable pale ale with fruity and herbal undertones, a higher thiol profile, modern all the way, and a fun little riff on a style that thrives with this level of intentionality and with all the fun new hops that have dropped in recent years, well done. bobby will live forever in our hearts, maybe this beer should live forever too in the permanent matchless arsenal, its good enough to be a full timer. thanks for this one, loved it on every level.
