Vintage 2010, Gyle No. 0001, the first batch after the brewery re-opened. Poured from a white wax topped bottle with a "T" stamp and lanyard label. Pours a very dark, blackish coloring, with a nutty brown highlight around the edges. Nose of subtle cocoa sweet, peat and earth, hints of coffee, cream, and a little bit of musty overlay. Very balanced. Flavors are bitter and roasted forward, with a coffee backbone and tangy chocolate and toffee highlights, a subtle booze kick, nutty sweet hints, and a sweet cream overlay. Very smooth, but still robust after 4 years in bottle. Chocolate and cream sweet aftertaste on a smooth, slow, dry finish. Very nice.
