Pours a rich amber with a small head that quickly dissipates after pouring. Residual lacing clings to glass. I get a sweet honey and melon with an underlying cattiness scent on the nose. Taste is amped up similar with more melon and honey vibe vs. piney or tropical fruits. Feel is a little thick but tempered by its effervescence, easy drinking. Overall, it’s a nice take on an imperial, although it is a tad on the sweet side without the lingering bitterness that I enjoy on my favorite IIPAs. It has a warming quality and feels nice after a day in the snow. I’d pick up more if I was in Leavenworth or found it freshly brewed, but we are spoiled for choices in Puget Sound.
