375 ml orange wax capped bottle, no dating that I could find on it but I'm thinking it's close to a year old. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a snifter, the beer pours a hazy burnt orange/brown color with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit, caramel, oak and bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some vanilla and earthy hop flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall barleywine, certainly worth trying some if you get the chance!

From the wax capped bottle in a snifter. This ale pours a thick and
murky orange tinged brown with a decent head of khaki foam that settles
to a thin ring, thin swirling layer, and shows faint lacing. Nose of bourbon,
vanilla, oak, astringent booze, spicy hops, light fig and raisin, and sweet
caramel malts. Flavors lightly surpass the nose with heavy boozy astringent
bourbon, light vanilla, medium strong oak, raisin, spicy and pine heavy hops,
and dark breaded malts with touches of cherry. Decent mouth feel; medium
body, low carbonation, very warming, and finishing heavy hopped and warm.
Overall, good but could benefit from some aging. A bit hot to be honest.
Cheers

Bottle from the brewery.
This must have been a bad batch or just a bad bottle.
There was no carbonation at all when I opened the botte.
Smell and taste were off by a mile.
This was not a good experience, half of the bottle went down the drain...
