Copenhagen 11/12 2023. 33 cl bottle with a cork stopper from the brewery in the center of Oostende. A dark label with golden letters.
Comes gushing out of the bottle the second I remove the stopper. Pours opaque dark brown with a huge off-white head. Settles as thin patch of foam floating in the middle of the glass.
Aroma is intense with a sweet vinous quality mingling with a distinct scent of juniper and alcohol. Brown sugar, toffee and liqueur. Genever and glue. Rubber.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong odd tart bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a chemical undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
I would not say that a Genever cask is the most obvious place to store your beer.
