On nitro tap at Iron Tug Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours in the classic nitro way, glossy black, with a thick white head, the whole cascading bubbles thing, you know.
This smells pretty great, with caramelly coffee, chalky cocoa, and roasted malt on the nose.
I don't usually like nitro beers a ton, but is a really nice surprise. The coffee flavor comes through super strongly. With the nitro flavor and the creaminess of this- it really comes across as sweet iced coffee with a lot of vanilla creamer. There's also some really nice chocolate syrup//hot cocoa character here, with a bit of roasty bitterness on the finish. This ended up working out quite well.
This has a very creamy and rich body, fairly thick despite the nitro dispense. It's very drinkable.
This is one of the best nitro'd beers I've ever had. Iron Tug really knows how to make a good stout on nitro.
