On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like rich and sweet coffee, light pepper spice, vanilla, and fudge.
Luckily, there's not too much cinnamon here - it's actually quite subtle. There's a bit of pepper - it adds a nice spicy note against the sweet coffee and vanilla flavors here. It's all well balanced - it's good pastry without being ridiculous.
This is creamy, rich, and pretty thick bodied, with a good drinkability and no real booze to it.
I've been solidly impressed with Iron Tug lately. This is one of the better stouts in the area that wasn't made by Mortalis.
