Can: Poured a light copper color barleywine with a small off-white foamy head with limited retention and light lacing. Aroma of grainy malt notes with some caramelized malt and residual sugar notes. Taste is an unbalanced mxi of grainy malt, caramelized malt with some gross residual sugar notes. Body is light with good carbonation and some warming alcohol notes. Lacking balance and attenuation.

On tap at Iron Tug Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a murky dark brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like coca-cola, caramel, toffee, chocolate, and booze.
The barrel-aged version of this beer was excellent - the base is weirdly a big miss for me. There's an odd and funky coca-cola/sarsaparilla sort of flavor, with a weird sweetness, and a lot of booze. It just doesn't work.
This is medium bodied, very boozy, and just not all that drinkable.
Barrel time did this beer wonders - it's hard to believe this beer could improve that much with a year in barrels.
