I have had this bottle for quite some time now. I wanted to save it for the right moment as I only have one and they are rare.
When I opened the bottle, a scent of alcohol and spices was noticeable. Nice!
The beer doesn’t really produce an impressive head: Thin with some large bubbles.
It’s copper coloured with rich carbonation. On the bottom there’s a small amount of yeast.
Scent is strong, but not very complex. Mostly alcohol, with lemon and pepper. Very pleasant though!
Taste gives the same impressions. High in alcohol, noticeable by the warm feeling between mouth and stomach. Richly spiced with pepper. Sugared lemon, slight caramel, pinch of nutmeg and rich yeast.
Mouthfeel is incredibly pleasant, behind the dominating alcohol, I can find a mellow black chocolate with hazelnut taste. It lingers on endlessly.
A very strong beer! In alcohol as well as in craftsmanship. Highly recommendable, if only it was easier to find…
