Maybe the last coffee beer made with Bow Truss coffee on the planet. This coffee stout has been aging in bourbon and rye barrels for 18 months. Big bourbon and balanced coffee notes throughout.

Tap
Pours jet opaque black, tan ring for a head.
Smells of fresh coffee, hazelnut, cocoa, vanilla, and oak.
Flavor is of rich coffee, cocoa, mesquite, raisin, pecan, hazelnut, vanilla, and rye whiskey.
Full body, stinging carbonation on the tongue. Warms going down.
Rich and excellent. Definitely worth trying, drinks slow but rewardingly.

Had on tap. Oozes dark chocolate fudge and coffee in the aroma, beautiful. The taste has a strong coffee front with following layers of dark chocolate, malt, bourbon, and a hint of rye. The feel is pretty standard for a single stout, with a little woody texture in finish.

Draft at the brewery.
Inky blackish brown, thin layer of tan foam that fades to a thin ring.
Aroma is woody with a light barrel presence as it warms. Some coffee.
Medium bodied and slightly astringent, light carb level.
Dark bakers chocolate, dark roast coffee, light oaky bourbon.
Well melded flavors, it’s tasty. Could use a little softer creaminess to the body, but otherwise it’s really nice.
